No Idea. I believe that when IE feels about there is a change is needed, it will proceed towards changing the syllabus. Moreover this course's recognition issue is currently in court. So, it may take time.

But in addition to that, as IE covers all the core areas from each branch of engineering, which is static in nature (at least the most part), I don't think any such change is really required. If you compare pre 2005 and post 2005 syllabus, (I didn't make any exhaustive study, but just flipped through Material Science and other core papers from each engineering branch) and realize that they are same. In some cases subject name is slightly changed it seems. As far as fundamentals are concerned in any engineering branch, I believe they are almost constant.
